Architecture & The Great Confinement: An Interview Series

During these uncertain times, a sense of community seems more important than ever. In keeping with the shift to remote learning, U-SoA has initiated a video interview series entitled: Architecture and the Great Confinement. The series aims to promote a global dialogue focused on the recent events surrounding the COVID-19 pandemic and its potential impacts on the world of architecture and the design of future cities. The series, led by Prof. Carie Penabad, launches here with Nader Tehrani, Dean of Cooper Union's Irwin S. Chanin School of Architecture and Principal at NADAAA. It will proceed with weekly episodes featuring Beatriz Colomina, Andres Duany, M. Christine Boyer, Leon Krier, Jerold Kayden, Rodrigo Costa Lima, Elizabeth Plater-Zyberk, Mabel Wilson and Rodolphe el-Khoury, among others.

We encourage both our local and global community to provide feedback and comments on the conversations so that the effort may promote a sustained and meaningful interchange. Thank you for tuning in and hope that everyone is safe and well until we are able to reconnect on the University campus!
