Bienal de Arquitectura 2025

On June 7, 2025, Carie Penabad and Adib Cúre delivered the keynote lecture (Charla Magistral) at the Bienal de Arquitectura in Puerto Rico. Entitled Existing Conditions, the talk reflected on the importance of understanding what is already present—the built fabric, the traces of memory, and the everyday—as the foundation for design. Rooted in Cure & Penabad’s philosophy of Vernacular Rationalism, the lecture underscored how architecture must reconcile tradition and modernity, reason and place, in order to craft a meaningful civic realm.
