Spring 2026 U-SoA Tecnoglass Lecture Series: “Same as It Ever Was”

On March 18, Adib Cúre and Carie Penabad presented the lecture “Same as It Ever Was” at the University of Miami School of Architecture, part of the U-SoA Spring 2026 Tecnoglass Lecture Series. The lecture explores how architecture evolves through continuity. In a culture often focused on disruption, the work of Cúre & Penabad turns instead toward those forms, spaces, and urban patterns that endure because they continue to carry meaning. Moving between buildings, urban spaces, and everyday constructions, the lecture reflects on how architecture can be both modern and ancient at once—responsive to present life while grounded in precedent, type, climate, craft, and the accumulated intelligence of the city.
